How to get to the Grenadines

The destination can be considered “off the beaten path” which leads to its charm and exclusivity, yet the main islands are relatively easy to get to. Your path to these idyllic shores is paved with choices – be it through chartered flights or yachts that whisk you away to the heart of this Caribbean haven.

For an elevated experience, private jets and yachts ensure a seamless voyage, exuding a sense of exclusivity that is the hallmark of the Grenadines. For some of our destinations, including Mustique and Canouan, you can also get a charter flight from nearby islands such as St Lucia or Barbados.

Speak to our villa specialist Yvonne who will be happy to answer any questions you have on this destination.

How to get to Mustique

The primary route to reach Mustique involves flying into St. Lucia or Barbados. Upon arrival, an island representative will be there to welcome you and expedite your journey to the Mustique lounge, where you can comfortably wait for your next flight.

The travel time is approximately one hour aboard one of the island's 18-seater Twin Otter aircraft, which are used to transport passengers to the private island. Alternatively, a less frequent but quicker option is to directly travel from St. Vincent, either by catamaran or a brief seven-minute flight.

It's important to note that landings on Mustique are not permitted after sunset. To ensure a smooth transfer, aim to reach your initial destination no later than 3:30 PM. This timeframe allows sufficient time for the necessary transfers.

How to get to Canouan

Inter-island air travel options are offered through Grenadines Alliance, operated by SVGAir, facilitating transfers between Canouan (CIW), Barbados (BGI), and St. Vincent (SVD). Opting for a flight through Barbados is recommended.

The duration of a commercial flight from Barbados to Canouan is approximately 1 hour, while the flight time from St. Vincent to Canouan is just 15 minutes.

Regional private charter companies also offer the option to arrive by a private charter flight.

How to get to Bequia

Bequia's accessibility might surprise you, as it offers direct flights from the UK, US, and Canada to St. Vincent. Additionally, there are convenient direct flight options from Barbados or St. Lucia, with a relatively short flight duration of around 30 minutes.

When it comes to reaching Bequia, you have several options:

  1. Arrive directly in St. Vincent and then embark on a picturesque 1-hour ferry journey to the captivating Bequia.
  1. Opt for a direct flight from Barbados or St. Lucia to Bequia using Bequia Air or Mustique Airways. These airlines offer same-day connections, enabling you to streamline your travel. The flight itself takes 35 minutes, with the possibility of extending up to an hour if the pilot incorporates some island hopping along the way. However, any additional flight time is balanced by the breathtaking view of the Grenadines island chain.
  1. Choose a Liat flight to St. Vincent from Barbados or St. Lucia, taking only 30 minutes. Enjoy an overnight stay in St. Vincent to recharge, followed by a tranquil 1-hour ferry journey into Bequia the next morning.
